What is a home care package?

The Australian Government has introduced a raft of funding opportunities to provide affordable services to older Australians to get some help around the home.

A Home Care Package (HCP) is one of the primary ways that older Australians can access these affordable services.

This help can range from everyday tasks such as cleaning the bathrooms, making the bed or help in the garden, to m0re complex needs such as assistance with medication, wound management and allied health services. what are the levels of funding under a home care package?

The Australian Government has 4 different levels of funding available depending on the complexity of care required:

  • Level 1 (Basic Care Needs): $9,026.45 per year

  • Level 2 (Low Level Care Needs): $15,877.50 per year

  • Level 3 (Intermediate Care Needs): $34,550.90 per year

  • Level 4 (High Level Care Needs): $52,377.50 per year
